Description:
The Crescent bannerstone is masterfully carved with highly polished surface with several chips and worn at the perforations. “Ploughed up in a field” is written in ascension manuscript notes. “Pagodite or agalmatolite” is written in the manuscript to identify the stone type. Upon closer analysis this appears to be serpentinite that is commonly found in Virginia. Va is written on the stone with ascension number incised below.
