Description:
There is an internal crack running from the upper spine to the lower edge of this well-shaped butterfly quartz. This is one of several bannerstones stolen from the NMNH collection sometime between 1972 and 1979 and then anomalously returned in the mail in 1995. Illinois, H. J. Woodward is written in faint, fading white paint on the stone.
